A few famous actors lead an ensemble cast in The Menu, the dark comedy that will leave some queasy. We break down who’s in the cast of the new film.

The Menu had its premiere at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival and released in theaters on November 18. The film is a dark comedy that has plenty of grisly violence and thrills, and has received a mostly positive critical reception. The film has a well-rounded, and star-studded, cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, who leads an ensemble cast of characters who are each memorable in their own way.
Julian Slowik is a famous chef who caters his cuisine experiences to the wealthy, having bought a remote island to house his exclusive restaurant that people pay a lot of money to attend. Julian Slowik is portrayed by Ralph Fiennes, who is best known for The Constant Gardener, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Schindler’s List, and for playing Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films and Gareth Mallory in Daniel Craig’s James Bond movies. Fiennes has also been in The Duchess, Maid in Manhattan, and The English Patient.
Margot attends the dinner experience as the foodie Tyler’s girlfriend, but she is someone else entirely, and her true identity intrigues Chef Slowik. Margot is portrayed by Anya Taylor-Joy, who is best known for her roles in the Netflix miniseries The Queen’s Gambit, Peaky Blinders, Amsterdam, Glass, the Jane Austen adaptation of Emma., and The Northman.
Tyler is Margot’s boyfriend and a self-professed foodie. He is a big fan of Chef Slowik and has been waiting for a long time to attend one of his restaurant experiences. Tyler is portrayed by Nicholas Hoult, who is best known for About a Boy, Mad Max: Fury Road, Warm Bodies, the Hulu series The Great, and for playing Hank McCoy/Beast in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Elsa is Chef Slowik’s right-hand woman who runs a tight ship in terms of the restaurant and keeping guests in check. Elsa is portrayed by Hong Chau, who is best known for the HBO series Watchmen, The Whale starring Brendan Fraser, Big Little Lies, Downsizing, and the animated series BoJack Horseman.
Janet McTeer as Lillian Bloom – Lillian Bloom is a food critic who has reviewed Chef Slowik over the years. Janet McTeer is best known for her roles in Allegiant, a film in the Divergent franchise, the Netflix series Ozark, the Marvel Netflix series Jessica Jones, Sorry for Your Loss, and Wuthering Heights.
Judith Light as Anne – Anne is a guest at Chef Slowik’s island restaurant, and is someone who, along with her husband, frequents the establishment. Judith Light is best known for her role as Angela Bower in the comedy series Who’s the Boss and as Claire Meade in Ugly Betty. Light has also been in the musical film tick, tick… Boom!, the TV series Transparent, The Politician, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
John Leguizamo as Movie Star – John Leguizamo portrays a washed-up movie star who is still coasting on his past fame, and who is a guest at Chef Slowik’s restaurant. Leguizamo is best known for his roles in Moulin Rouge!, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, Encanto, in which he voiced the animated character of Bruno, the Netflix miniseries When They See Us, Ice Age, and John Wick: Chapter 2.
Reed Birney as Richard Liebbrandt – Richard Liebbrandt is Anne’s husband, and whose marital issues are on display throughout The Menu. Reed Birney is best known for Mass, the Netflix series House of Cards, the DC superhero series Titans, and The Blacklist.
Paul Adelstein as Ted – Ted is Lillian's editor and her guest at Chef Slowik’s restaurant. Paul Adelstein is best known for his roles in Chicago P.D., Prison Break, Scandal, and the TV series Private Practice.
Aimee Carrero as Felicity – Felicity is the movie star’s personal assistant who is on the verge of quitting and attends the dinner as his guest. Aimee Carrero is best known for her roles in the animated series Elena of Avalor, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Young & Hungry, and Blindspot.
Arturo Castro as Soren – Soren is a spoiled and wealthy tech bro who is a guest at Chef Slowik’s restaurant. Arturo Castro is known for his roles in the Roku biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Broad City, and the Netflix series Narcos.
Mark St. Cyr as Dave – Dave is a friend of Soren and a fellow tech bro. Mark St. Cyr is best known for the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
Rob Yang as Bryce – Bryce is Soren and Dave’s friend. Rob Yang is best known for the HBO series Succession, The Resident, and American Rust.
Rebecca Koon as Linda – Linda is Chef Slowik’s mother. Rebecca Koon is best known for The Detour.
Peter Grosz as Sommelier – The Sommelier attends to the guests and ensures their wine pairs well with Chef Slowik’s meals in The Menu. Peter Grosz is best known for Veep and Late Night with Seth Meyers.
