Steve Martin teases Only Murders in the Building season 3 in a sweet new Tik Tok which celebrates the upcoming release of season 2. The beloved Hulu series is set to return to screens in just a few months and will see true-crime trio Martin Short, Selena Gomez, and Martin as they take on their next big case. Having left audiences with a huge cliffhanger in the final moments of season 1, many cannot wait to see Charles (Martin), Oliver (Short), and Mabel (Gomez) back at the Arconia, alongside an exciting new line-up of celebrity guest stars, including the likes of Cara Delevingne, Amy Schumer, and Shirley MacLaine in Only Murders in the Building season 2.
Only Murders in the Building became the most-watched comedy premiere in Hulu’s history when it was released last summer. It came as no surprise when Hulu announced that Only Murders in the Building season 2 had received the green light, going into production shortly after the release of season 1. Filming on the upcoming season just recently wrapped in New York City. Few details have been released in the run-up to Only Murders in the Building season 2, but Hulu boss Craig Erwich previously revealed that this new series stands up to its predecessor, delivering on both the dramatic depth and comedy that made season 1 of Only Murders in the Building such a success. Now, prior to the release of season 2, audiences may have just received their first tease towards the possibility of season 3.

In a sweet video shared by Gomez to her Tik Tok (via @GomezSource), the star raised a glass with her fellow co-stars, Martin and Short, to celebrate production officially coming to an end on Only Murders in the Building season 2. Gomez toasts “to a great season 2” which is then echoed by Short. Martin, however, follows up by declaring “to a great season 3” to which he then continues “Well.. next year” in response to his co-star’s seeming ‘confusion.’ Check out the Tik Tok below.

No official announcements have been made regarding Only Murders in the Building season 3 at this stage, with the release date for season 2 having only recently been confirmed. A recent teaser for the upcoming season offered a short glimpse at Charles, Oliver, and Mabel following season 1’s dramatic conclusion, as well as the first official look at season 2’s newest additions. Another exciting name that is rumored to have joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building season 2 is Paul Rudd, after a set photo was shared which showed the Ant-Man star posing alongside a number of the show’s cast members.
Given the immense success of Only Murders in the Building season 1, it’s highly likely that season 3 has a high probability of happening, as Hulu seems likely to hit another home run with season 2. While Martin’s sweet toast to season 3 may not act as an official announcement, the small tease will likely make many fans incredibly happy. As for now, it remains to be seen what Only Murders in the Building season 2 has in store for audiences and whether its events will set up for a continuation into season 3, when it releases on June 28.
