'Only Murders in the Building' Season 3 News, Date, Cast, and … – Cosmopolitan

Question. How many more people can die in the Arconia??
Welcome, amateur sleuths, to the official murder board for

Only Murders in the Building season 3. Here’s where you can come to find any information and speculation about the third season. It’s not that I want the lives of Charles, Oliver, and Mabel to be plagued with more people getting killed in their building…but also I kinda do. It’s fiction! Bring me more bloody Arconia mysteries! While we wait to find out about Only Murders in the Building season 3, here’s what we know so far.
In a surprise announcement, Hulu announced on July 11 that the series will officially come back for a third season. The series had just premiered its second season and clearly it’s been such a hit because the streamer renewed it before it finished its current run. It was also nominated for a bunch of Emmys, so again, this is really no surprise.
The show wouldn’t be the show without the golden trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Beyond those three, who knows! It’ll depend on who’s a killer, or killed, in season 2. It’ll also depend on whether or not Amy Schumer sticks around or another celebrity moves into “Sting’s apartment” in season 3 and if Cara Delevingne’s Alice returns too. This show attracts some guest stars—season 1 had Jane Lynch and season 2 has Shirley MacLaine. Tina Fey has popped up in both seasons. Remember when Nathan Lane was in season 1? It kind of feels like anyone could move into the Arconia at this point.
And if you’ve watched the end of season 2, you could probably guess that Paul Rudd will be making some appearances in season 3 as well, considering he is the victim du jour. Hopefully, we get lots of episodes’ worth of backstory there! Series cocreator John Hoffman told Variety that Paul’s character is “someone we clearly want to know more about and see in our upcoming season 3—as he is a clear source of many upcoming questions and, as ever with our show, many twists yet to come!”
Weirdly, that’s almost more difficult to predict than anything else. The first season aired from August to October of 2021, and the second season dropped between June and August of 2022. Presuming the show is renewed and they start writing and filming this year, season 3 could be next summer or fall or whenever they’re done and ready, really. I don’t think it would be before the end of 2022, but when exactly in 2023 is a big shrug as far as I’m concerned.
Leah Marilla Thomas is an entertainment writer, UNC alum, and former Hasbro Toy Tester (yes, that’s a real thing) who loves The Good Place and Love Island equally. In her alleged spare time, she’s probably either at the theater, in a park, or watching basketball.
