A new week is here and while this week doesn’t have as many new movies and shows on Netflix as the last couple, there are still a few new things that you may want to check out. This week, the new additions include a crime drama starring Aubrey Plaza, a new anime series, and a retelling of a well-known fairytale.
One of the biggest movies coming to Netflix this week is Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. The famous horror director is giving us his take on the wooden marionette that comes to life and goes on adventures on his own.
The movie features the voices of Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Gregory Mann, Burn Gorman, Ron Perlman, John Turturro, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, Tim Blake Nelson, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton.
It’s available to stream on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022.

Emily the Criminal is also coming to Netflix this week. It hits the streaming service on Wednesday, Dec. 7. The movie stars Aubrey Plaza and tells the story of a young woman who has a ton of debt and is not able to find a job because of her criminal record. To try to get back on her feet, she becomes a “dummy shopper” in a credit card scam but she soon finds herself in more danger than she could have ever imagined.

More in the mood for some anime? Dragon Age: Absolution is also coming to Netflix on Friday, Dec. 9. The new animated series is set in the Tevinter Empire and follows Miriam, an elven mercenary who must fight against the evil Imperium after a heist she runs with her friends goes wrong. And to fight this evil, she has to deal with her unfortunate past.
