Dedicated Star Wars fans are bound to love Star Wars: The Bad Batch, both a sequel and spin-off of The Clone Wars. Set after the Clone War, it revolves around members of a unique squad of clones as they navigate a galaxy that’s constantly changed by wars and uprisings.
The Clone Force 99, also known as the Bad Batch, were first introduced in The Clone Wars. Now they’re featured in their own stand-alone animated series, taking on audacious mercenary missions in a rapidly changing galaxy. After the first season aired to great success, it’s been confirmed that Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 drops on streaming TV in January 2023. Find out how you can watch new episodes here.
Star Wars and Star Wars: Clone Wars fans were delighted when the first season of The Bad Batch premiered. The new animated series follows a group of elite and experimental clones who were first introduced in the last season of Clone Wars. In the new spin-off, several favourite characters made notable appearances, including the likes of Captain Rex and Star Wars: Rebel’s Hera Syndualla.
Now in its second season, the clone conspiracy is not showing any signs of slowing down as it teases more returning characters, a few of which we never thought we would see again. As per the additional trailer, it would seem that The Bad Batch will join forces with Gungi, as well as search for more allies.
But if there’s one major thing that got fans excited after watching the extra Season 2 trailer, it’s the return of Commander Cody after Order 66. For starters, the character is one of the few clones that have been featured in the original movies (portrayed by Temuera Morrison in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith). He was Obi-Wan’s commander after all and even worked closely with both Captain Rex and the Bad Batch when the war was at its height.
In Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2, we’ll find out whether the supposedly loyal commander keeps on working with Crosshair for the Empire or defect with the Bad Batch.
